Bartier Bros. Viognier 2016

British Columbia, CanadaWe are Bartier fans at GOW because little is done at the winery to get in the way of the fruit. The old 'less is more' is the edict, but as always, you need to know more to do less and Bartier Bros seems, in fact, to know more. The nose is super fresh, full of peach and citrus fruit with a subtle touch of fennel and sagebrush. You can drink this now and enjoy it or age it a decade and let the acidity and fruit become one. Serve with creamy mushroom pastas and risottos. The vineyard sits in Cawston, on the west slopes of Mt. Kobau in the Similkameen Valley. The subsoils are made up largely of basalt, gneiss, granite, and garnet stones.Tasted: 26 May 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
