Ventoux, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceThis is a blend of 90/10 white grenache / clairette from the clay and limestone soils of AOP Ventoux, in the Southern Rhone (and yes, the foothills of the master climb in Tour de France). Crisp and clean, with greengage, lemon blossom and a fine pear film brightened with crunchy, white grapefruit acidity to the snappy, salted finish. This is a bright and sunny medium bodied white to match with white fish and shellfish stews.Tasted: 05 December 2017Tasted by: Prices:

Ventoux, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceSimple but good. The blend is 80/20 grenache/clairette and it seems this mix is beginning to find its feet in the south of France. The vines are 20 years old and planted over clay and limestone. It would appear they are settling in, soaking up the sun and getting it into the wine. The aromas are mostly apples and pears with flecks of citrus and tropical banana notes. It’s the freshness that gives it so much appeal. It's simple but done right, like a perfectly roasted chicken (which by the way would be great match). Good value.Tasted: 14 April 2017Tasted by: Prices:
