Calmel and Joseph Languedoc Rouge (Trumpet Label) 2015
Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceClassic introductory Languedoc rouge with a medium dark red colour and a spicy, soupy nose of dried herbs (garrigue) and a mix of red and black fruits. The attack is fresh and clean with more pure blackcurrant and a savoury garrigue undercurrent. The blend is 50/30/20 syrah, grenache and carignan, each grown on different soils in different locations. The fruit is hand-picked and only partly crushed, and fermented before aging in concrete tanks for six months. It is a delicious drinking red wine that is ready to drink.
