Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California, United StatesThe 5100-acre estate (900 acres planted) is a blend of several sauvignon blocks planted at 900 feet over rocky volcanic soils. Bright tangerine aromas mix with bay leaf and fennel, with floral notes throughout. The palate is a riot of flavour with grapefruit pith, guava, white flowers, candied lemon and a stony mineral undercurrent. It's 100 percent barrel fermented and aged in French oak for six months, yet you hardly notice it.
