Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSmoked meats, overripe and sweet black fruits and roasted stems fill this full-boded red. This new Oliver winery has plucked ex-Sumac Ridge winemaker Mark Wendenburg, and the similarities in style are overt. Tannins are soft and dark chocolate powdery, the result of 24 months in two-year-old Kentucky American Barrique Oak barrels. The char is felt on the hot finish, requiring equally ample grilled meats to match.
