San Rafael, General Alvear, Southern Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaA cool growing season always seems to benefit New World syrah and in 2015 it has done just that in Argentina. We love the black pepper laced blackberry jam aromas, sweetened with heady perfumed violets and plum paste in this San Rafael syrah. The tannins are supple, as is the medium bodied palate. Black liquorice, vanilla pod, smoked meats and baking spices mark the warm finish. Juicy and approachable, especially with BBQ ribs.
