Yalumba The Tri-Centenary Grenache 2011
Barossa Valley, South Australia, AustraliaCan’t say enough about this special bottle of wine, especially to the cadre of folks who think grenache is for kids. Hand-picked from a scruffy bunch of old bush vines planted in 1889 (127 years ago). This wine is about texture, savoury dried cherry texture, with an amazing undercurrent of spice and earthy, dried red fruits. Finesse over and under elegance that frankly could change the way many think about Australian wine. Persistent, long and luxurious without being fat and sweet; this is a treasure. You can drink it now or hold it forever. Undervalued in every market.Tasted: 10 January 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:US | $60.00 | 750ml |
