Mark Haisma Santenay Saint Jean 2014
Beaune, Côte de Beaune, Côte d'Or, Burgundy, FranceMark Haisma is known to be different. An Australian in Burgundy is a great start. A fan of biodynamics, he doesn’t own any land but he sources grapes from local growers he deems devoted to the land and the vineyards. I’m not sure what you know about white Santenay, but his 2014 Santenay Saint Jean Blanc is a shockingly good bottle of Burgundy. A bright, floral, apple blossom affair, it has a delicious, measured citrus-soaked nut flavour with a fresh mid-weight, sea-salt finish. Perfect with crab cakes. A wonderful discovery and good value too.Tasted: 18 January 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $43.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
