Louis Latour Gamay Bourgogne 2013
Burgundy, FranceGamay from a declassified Beaujolais Cru can use the term Bourgogne Gamay as of the 2011 vintage, as is the case with this Louis Latour. This is 85 percent Fleurie and Côte de Brouilly, along with 15 percent pinot noir from Burgundy. Strawberry jam, black cherries and dried herbs are carried along a smooth, light palate, rimmed with finely peppery tannins, to a brusque bitter black cherry finish. More grippier than entry-level gamay, and far simpler than Cru Bojo, exactly where it's supposed to be. Great mid-week red with ham or sausages.Tasted: 02 January 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $22.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
