Kumeu River Pinot Gris 2011
Auckland, North Island, New ZealandNew Zealand isn't known for its pinot gris, and the style ranges from grigio lean to Alsatian-rich, so it pays to know your producer. Fortunately, top tier Kumeu River makes delicious everything, so you're in safe hands with their pinot gris. Wild yeast fermented, this is round and generous, but held with a finely structured grip and bright acidity to counter the 10 g/l RS. Juicy yellow apple, herbal pear, smoked stone and lightly perfumed apricot with a delicate oil slick on the palate. A pleasant honeyed sheen of age showing here.Tasted: 04 January 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $26.00 | 750ml | private wine shops |
