Cellar and vineyard improvements are beginning to show up in wines such as Plan de Dieu, one of several Côtes du Rhône Villages that sits nearby Gigondas and Vacqueyras. The 80/10/10 mix of grenache, syrah and mourvèdre is gentle and polished with silky tannins and lovely black, peppery, juicy fruits with a mineral, stony savoury undercurrent.
