Marionette Pinot Noir 2014

British Columbia, CanadaMarionette is a new BC winery located in Salmon Arm and run by a young couple with winemaking experience in France, Spain and the UK. Amanda and Jamie returned to BC and founded Marionette two years ago, focussing on low intervention wines. Candied sour cherry, rhubarb, cranberry, young raspberry and black pepper fill this exuberant, youthful and slightly spritzy pinot noir. Tannins are fine and lightly grippy. The grapes come from Peachland's sandy gravelled Tenacious Vineyard, the freshness is captured with stainless steel, and no filtration is used prior to bottling. Eager and keen, if a bit ernest, this is a project to keep an eye on in future.Tasted: 15 December 2016Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
