Esporao Reserva Tinto 2013
Alentejo, Central and Southern Portugal, PortugalFleshy dark plum, perfumed blackberries, dense rock roses, dark chocolate and ample thorny tannins fill this dense and compact young blend of aragonês, trincadeira, cabernet sauvignon and alicante bouschet from the Alentejo. Twelve months in 70 percent American oak and 30 percent French oak barrels, plus an additional stint of 8 months in bottle have primed this wine to reward with some aging (and decant and enjoy with roasted lamb now). A wave of acidity carries the heft to a pleasant sweet cassis and heady spice on the warm finish.Tasted: 19 December 2016Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $33.99 | 750ml | private wine shops |
