Château de Ricaud 2012
Bordeaux, FranceThe vineyards at de Ricaud were renovated by the Dourthe team in 2008 and four years later the work has paid off. The predominantly clay-limestone terroir works well storing and releasing water when needed. We love the soft textures and richness of fruit in 2012; this 50/50 blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot ages in all new oak. The mid-palate is full with a pleasant savoury, licorice riff penetrating the cassis fruit flavours. Fair value.
