Coteaux du Languedoc, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceThe Château Paul Mas single vineyard wines are the signature labels of Domaines Paul Mas from the best cru sites of Côteaux du Languedoc AOP. The Clos des Mûres vineyard resides within the Domaines de Nicole Estate between the villages of Montagnac and Sète. The south-facing, 11 hectare vineyard includes vines near 40-years old, and is surrounded by mûres (wild blackberry) bushes. The blend is an 83/12/5 syrah/grenache and mourvèdre, spewing blackcurrants, violets and spice. Smoky licorice, pure black fruit flavours set the stage for this spicy black cherry, black raspberry, tobacco and tapenade red. An impressive wine from a great year, this has a long life ahead of it.
