Chateau Belgrave 2010

Haut-Médoc, Médoc, Bordeaux, FranceChâteau Belgrave, classed as a 5ème Cru Classé in the 1855 Classification came back to life in the 1980s under the Dourthe team and oenologist Michel Rolland. The chateau is in Saint-Laurent adjacent to the St-Julien appellation and the 55 hectares are planted to Cabernet-Sauvignon (40), Merlot (35), Cabernet Franc (20) and Petit Verdot (5). The oak regime is 50 percent new French barrels and the wine spends 15 and 18 months in wood. The style is Rolland sleek and harmonious. At six years the 2010 is strutting it stuff offering silky, smoky plummy fruit flecked with bits of tobacco and pencil lead. Showing well at the moment and pretty solid for the price.Tasted: 23 December 2016Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
