Champagne Janisson & Fils Grand Cru NV
Champagne, FranceThis Grand Cru Champagne blends 60/40 pinot noir / chardonnay from Grand Cru vineyards in Verzenay, Mailly, Avize and Mesnil sur Oger. 18 percent reserve wines plump up the blend, and five years on the lees deepens it. A heady and full nose of earthy lees is the entry to the full palate, with ripe red apple, Rainier cherry lifted with pronounced crunchy acidity. The dosage feels a bit high at 9 g/l, but the style appeals to many. Great length, finishing with large flake sea salt.
