Champagne Dom Pérignon Bjork Rosé 2004

Champagne, FranceWinemaker Richard Geoffroy has been quoted as saying “This is a great wine that happens to be pink.” It’s all that and more. The still pinot noir is from the Grand Crus of Bouzy and Ay as well as the 1er cru of Hautvillers in this pinot noir / chardonnay rosé, the exact blend of which is secret proprietary information. Reportedly, the blend is near 50/50, with approximately one quarter being still red wine. A light cherry-orange hue launches this bubble that striking in colour before you even smell it. Pristine, with deep strawberry core and fine florals, fine smoke, cranberry and blood orange on a weighted, generous but never heavy, mineral core. This powerful wine vibrates along the finish, leaving spice and broken stones in its wake. Drinking beautifully now, but could last another decade. Can easily last from befores, through dinner, to post-dinner (better pick up a few bottles while you can).Tasted: 07 December 2016Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Treve RingPrices:
