Champagne Devaux Cuvée D NV
Champagne, FranceCuvée D opens with a whiff of oxidation adding to its rich round style. The blend is equal parts pinot noir and chardonnay from the Aube, in the Côte des Bars, aged for five years on the lees and with a higher dosage (7 g/l) than sibling Ultra D. Ten percent is barrel aged, and 40 percent reserve wines are added (25 percent of which are from a perpetual solera). Peach and ripe yellow apple fruit lead, while dried fruits, dough, brioche, pink florals fill a generous mid-palate, finishing with bright mandarine spicing on the very dry finish.
