Champagne, FranceFounded in 1868, the red dominant blend of 40/40/20 pinot noir/pinot meunier/chardonnay includes 25% reserve wines, a minimum of 3 years on the lees, and a dosage of 9 g/L. Ripe and doughy, with red apple, spiced cherry leading, braced with lemon peel, and smoothed out with the generous dosage through a salted finish. Upfront and generously present, you can understand why this is a regular on airplanes / in lounges.Tasted: 22 November 2022Tasted by: Prices:
Champagne, FranceThe founders of Canard-Duchene, Victor Canard and Léonie Duchêne, launched the house in 1868, though this is only year two seen here in Canada. The Brut Cuvée is a 50/30/20 mix of pinot noir, pinot meunier, and chardonnay with 25% reserve wine that spends 36 months on lees. The nose is fresh gingerbread, mineral, and lees, while the palate blends light tropical fruit with toast and salty oyster liqueur. At 9 g/L residual sugar, it is just on the edge of soft, and should appeal to those who want a more approachable style of champagne. Perfect for baked seafood dishes.Tasted: 01 November 2020Tasted by: Prices:
Champagne, FranceThis potent and powerful brut comes courtesy of a house founded in 1868, the red dominant blend of 40/40/20 pinot noir/pinot meunier/chardonnay, 25% reserve wines, a minimum of 3 years on the lees, and a dosage of 9 g/l. Rich and full on the palate, with cherry brioche, buttery croissant, red apple and blossoms, tight, grippy spices that linger on the vanilla-scented finish. This is a wine that is best enjoyed alongside food.Tasted: 04 November 2019Tasted by: Prices:
Champagne, FranceA blend of 40/40/20 pinot noir/pinot meunier/chardonnay, this bold and intense Champagne opens with tangerine blossom and peach, before brisk and bristling acidity, pink grapefruit and white cherry on a ripe red apple core. Ample and a touch sweet in the back end that finishes tight and grippy. More of a baked scallop wine than an oyster wine.Tasted: 05 December 2016Tasted by: Prices:
