Champagne Barons de Rothschild Brut NV

Champagne, FranceWith over 150 years of winemaking experience, the Rothschild family need no introduction. However, it wasn't until 2003, when the three Rothschild cousins Baron Benjamin, Baron Eric, and Baroness Philippine came together to finally add champagne to Rothschild’s huge portfolio of wines. The primary cuvée of Champagne Barons de Rothschild, this is 60% chardonnay primarily from the Côte des Blancs 1er and GCs, with 40% pinot noir predominantly from Verzenay, Ay, Mareuil-sur-Ay, and Ambonnay. 40% reserve wines are used, and this spent a minimum of 3 years sur lattes, with approximately 7 g/L dosage. Rich and doughy, with ample toasted biscuit, yellow apple, light cherry, perfumed pear across an expansive palate, finishing with a slight bitter red currant. Certainly a posher style, yet still affordable.Tasted: 18 November 2022Tasted by: Prices:
