Carson Pinot Noir Naramata Vineyard 2014

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFree draining alluvial and colluvial soils of silt and sandy loams over clay and gravel sets the stage for this hedonistic, rich Naramata Bench pinot. Dijon 115 clones have yielded an exuberant, fruity, spicy pinot that is three quarters Central Otago and one quarter Oregon in my mind. The ferment was 22 days, the aged 11 months in French Oak, 1/3 new, first fill and second fill. This rivals last year’s effort but with better ripeness. Strawberry fruit runs wild with enough spice and acidity to keep it all lively. The finish is soft silky and long. The bottle was served with roast chicken and gone in minutes.Tasted: 15 December 2016Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
