Salento, Puglia, ItalySlightly cooked nose and those 'appassimento,' dried grape aromas that spill onto the palate from grapes that come off two Puglia cru sites. The colour is dark, the nose spicy, the palate surprisingly fresh with some obvious deep fruit previewing a smoky, silky finish. The blend is a 60/35/15 mix of negroamaro, primitivo, malvasia nera. This vintage is more rustic than last year but still all in all a solid barbecue red.
