Stag's Hollow Dolcetto Shuttleworth Creek Vineyard 2015

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaDolcetto translates to "little sweet one" in Italy and this juicy dark berry, earthy and perfumed black plum wine is all that, plus it’s a singular Okanagan wine. Medicinal dark raspberry and dark cherry is carried along finely textured tannins to a kirsch finish. Winemaker Dwight Sick soars when he's given the reins to experiment. The Shuttleworth Creek Vineyard fruit goes thorough partial carbonic ferment in stainless steel before 60 percent is racked off into French oak barrels. After five months the stainless and oak portions were reunited and bottled without fining or filtration. A lovely soft, red-fruited style, drinking well now, especially with roasted squash.Tasted: 21 October 2016Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Treve RingPrices:
