Nielson by Byron Pinot Noir SBC 2014
Santa Barbara County, Central Coast, California, United StatesThe old Byron label has been renamed Nielson in honour of Uriel Nielson, the man who planted the first commercial pinot vines back in 1964 in Santa Barbara. The style is juicy and savoury, with floral ripe red fruit aromas and flavours. More hedonistic then complex, but a lot of fun to sip. Tea and ripe cranberries with rooty strawberry, mineral notes persist through the soft, silky, spicy finish. Salmon steaks would be a good match.Tasted: 14 October 2016Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $28.49 | 750ml | private wine shops |
