Les Crêtes Mon Blanc NV

Aosta Valley, ItalyFrom Valle D'Aosta, though this medium bodied white isn't labeled as such because there are no IGT designations outside of the main DOC in this region. Since this is a non-standard blend, the only alternative is to label it "Product of Italy", which is not very helpful. So let me help you: this is a blend of prié blanc (the only native white variety of the region), müller thurgau, pinot bianco, pinot grigio and chardonnay grown on loose, sandy soils between 600-850m. A gentle pressing and six months in stainless steel on the lees with battonage has well preserved the crisp northern Italian fruit. A juicy core of white peach, meadow honey, green apple, green fig and subtle honeyed melon is well lined with lees and engraved with stones, finishing with a wash of lemon. Dry, with mineral interest, this is a natural for white fish, mild white sausage or light shellfish soups.Tasted: 18 October 2016Tasted by: Prices:
