Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaMarkedly different from the 2014, which is to be entirely expected when you're dealing with natural wine. Here potent and pointed apricot, orange blossom, freesia, honey, medicinal anise and wild honey picks up flecks of beeswax and a waxy, slightly sticky texture in the 2015 VR (no "M" in this year's blend). Viognier and roussanne were whole cluster pressed, wild fermented into two 500L terracotta clay amphorae where it spent five and a half months before bottling. A warm spike of sweetly medicinal orange heats the throat; all (and more) of the 14.5 percent alcohol is felt here.
