El Esteco Don David Reserve Syrah 2012
Cafayate, Calchaqui Valley, Salta, North, ArgentinaThe Calchaquí Valley in Northern Argentina is home to this wine. Its deep, poor, rocky soils and some 22° C between the minimum cold nights and the maximum warm days, it is a lot like the Okanagan. About 70% of the wines is aged in small American and French oak barrels for 12 months. Fresh peppery, plum fruit nose with flecks of roasted coffee and peppery, pruny, spicy, black fruit with resiny tobacco notes. Youthful and fresh, it will improve in bottle. Serve now with grilled lamb. Good value and finished with a Diam cork.Tasted: 24 October 2016Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $13.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
