Terravista Fandango Albariño Verdejo 2015

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaI would never have guessed albariño would find a home in the Okanagan twenty-five years ago, but it has and it is killing it. Fandango mixes albariño and verdejo under the watchful eye of soulful winemaker Senka Tenant, and you can feel it and taste it in the wine. The fruit is grown at Terravista Vineyard’s home site, Lone Hand Ranch over granitic soils. Fandago is full-bodied, almost weighty but the palate is fresh and alive with notes of apricots, red apples, ripe melons and lemons with a twist of lime oil. Where many lost their focus in the heat of 2015, Fandango stayed the course with a mineral, stony back end. We loved it with a spicy chicken pasta dish.Tasted: 28 September 2016Tasted by: Prices:
