Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPrimarily estate fruit, this merlot is supplemented with grapes from the Similkameen. Fifteen percent wild ferment and 14-18 days on the skins before heading to French oak (34 percent new) for fifteen months. Muddled plum and dusky blackberry on a round palate comes across as warm and clipped. A very troublesome swirl of earthy, wood throughout, though I was alerted that it's a characteristic of this particular vintage.
