LaStella La Sophia 2013
Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis cabernet sauvignon is not your typical BC cab. This amply plush, structured, generous full bodied red might as well be from Bolgheri, or even Walla Walla. Twenty-eight-year-old vines draw dense cigar, tobacco, black cherry, and leather slowly across the generous palate, supported by the sun-baked ripeness of the Black Sage Bench, as well as thick, chewy tannins. There is so much heft and weight here (and I'm not just talking about the heavy glass bottle) that this necessitates a decant now, and would greatly benefit by five+ years in the cellar.Tasted: 15 August 2016Tasted by: Prices:BC | $89.90 | 750ml | winery direct, private wine shops |
