C.C. Jentsch Small Lot Series Cabernet Franc 2014
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA few months down the road from our last tasting this cabernet franc remains impressive. The nose has a meaty, mineral, black fruit scent that leads into a medium-rich palate awash in raspberry and cherries. Still youthful with plenty of freshness the tannins are firm and cloaked in medicinal-scented tobacco and long lingering cloves in a dense, sweet-fruited, warm finish. Seventeen months in French and American oak barrels, plus plenty of sunshine hours on the Golden Mile Bench provides a structure that will reward with a few years in the cellar. Pricey but impressive.Tasted: 22 February 2017Tasted by: Prices:BC | $49.90 | 750ml | winery direct, VQA and private wine shops |
