Atlantis Mencía 2015

Bierzo, Castilla-Leon, SpainAtlantis Albariño is a part of the Atlantis series managed by oenologist Raúl Acha, producing Atlantic wines from different DOs in Spain. This mencía is perfumed black plums and herbal thorns, scrubby thistle and wild blueberries, drawn across a fresh, juicy, medium and taut body. Tannins are slightly dusky and quite grippy, perfectly suited to structure this wild fruit. Flakes of sea salt and balsamic linger on the finish. Characterful wine, from fifty-year-old vines grown 450 to 600 meters above sea level.Tasted: 28 July 2016Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
