Seresin Chardonnay Reserve 2013
Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandFrom one of New Zealand's leading organic and biodynamic producers, this impressive Marlborough chardonnay is from clay rich hillside Raupo Creek vineyards as well as their estate vineyard's free draining Waimakariri soils. Whole bunch press and wild ferment in French oak (partial new), this spent nearly a year in barrel before light filtering and bottling without fining. Wild salted herbs dominate, with savoury and complex mineral, pear skin, subtle lemon and white grapefruit pith brightness. Acidity is lean, and the medium body streamline to a very lengthy, minerally finish.
