John Forrest Collection Waitaki Valley Chardonnay 2011
Central Otago, South Island, New ZealandFresh asparagus, sweet peas and white meadow flowers rule this North Otago chardonnay, from a sloping side of limestone and Waitaki river gravels. The soils are felt in the tightness and backbone of this wine, though fermentation and aging in seasoned French oak has plumped it out greatly around the sides.
