Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThough 40 Knots is based in Comox, on Vancouver Island, this dense, dark and perfumed syrah is from Okanagan Valley fruit. Wild fermented and aged in French puncheons for ten months, this is full of earthy wildness. Blackberry, black cherry, blueberry and dark florals lead the smoothed, soft palate, while scrubby underbrush and peppery spice fills the bottom. Candied violets and espresso lingers on the finish.
