Upper Bench Pinot Noir 2013
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaUpper Bench made 281 cases in 2013 of rich, masculine pint noir. Some 16 months in French oak, of which 1/3 is new, will do that, but then again it was a warm year on the Bench. Look for spicy, minty, resiny notes on the nose, with plenty of oak covering mostly red fruits. Textures are firm with some oak tannin predominating. This needs time to settle in, or serve it with some cheese if you can’t wait. A big wine that could use a touch of elegance going forward.Tasted: 05 May 2016Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $28.00 | 750ml | winery direct, VQA stores, private liquor stores |
