McLaren Vale, South Australia, AustraliaThe ‘Angel's Share’ refers to the evaporation from the cellar’s oak barrels during ageing although this wine appears to have been ably topped up to remain bright fresh. This wine is open and ready to please form the get go. Rich blueberries, brambleberries, sweet plums and a savoury light pepper undercurrent. Lovely fruit thanks to only six percent new oak and a mix of one to six-year-old puncheons and hogsheads. All you could want for $30 and a good example of the McLaren Vale style.
