Haywire Pinot Noir Canyonview Vineyard Raised in Concrete 2013

Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA Bordeaux brick colour belies the youth of this Summerland pinot noir. A ripe warmed strawberry jam nose with fragrant raspberries and forest berries previews an expansive, spicy, warm, medium bodied red that tastes more California than BC. Earthy, autumnal leaves and dried cherries are framed with downy, soft tannins flecked with peppery, herbal spices and lingering gentle pipe tobacco smoke. A year in concrete eggs has given this pinot all the softness it needs. It's more than ready to drink now. Not the usual bright, electric fruit expected from Haywire.Tasted: 31 March 2016Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Treve RingPrices:
