Cloudy Bay Chardonnay 2011

Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandFresh bread, cracker and green apple open this Marlborough chardonnay. Lees, hazelnut and toasted popcorn dominate the creamy palate, a result of complete barrel fermentation and full MLF. Creamy and toasty, this textured chardonnay finishes with grapefruit pith. Try this with chicken pot pie. Good to see the new oak dropping but it still tastes a bit old fashioned with that nutty, leesy character dominating the fruit.
