Carmen Winemaker's Black Carmenere Blend 2010
Apalta Valley, Santa Cruz, Valle del Colchagua, Valle del Rapel, Region del Valle Central, ChileWinemaker’s Blend Black is one of two new labels from Carmen (there is a Red) that is sorted by style. The ‘black’ is said to express “the energy and character of the Apalta Valley, while the red is said to be more floral and aromatic. This black is indeed rich and powerful but with all the pesky leafy herby peppery notes of carmenère held in check. In short this is amore sophisticated, almost Bordelais style of carmenère that slips along the palate effortlessly. Fresh black fruit and sweet spices combine into one long tasty red with well managed dense sweet, soft tannins. A delicious steak wine you could pour now or cellar for five to seven years.Tasted: 21 March 2016Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $36.99 | 750ml | special order - Charton-Hobbs |
