British Columbia, CanadaCowichan Valley's Quill line blends Vancouver Island grapes with those sourced from the Okanagan Valley. In this case, maréchal foch comes from Cowichan, and cabernet franc and merlot were sourced in Oliver. The result is a rustic and warm blend of dark berries, sour tart and thorny, earthy fruit and downy, furry tannins. The wood is not fully integrated, and with 18 months in a mix of new and old wood, overwhelming.
