Penfolds Cabernet Sauvignon Bin 9 2013

South Australia, AustraliaThis is new from Penfolds and designated Bin 9. It follows the multi-regional philosophy sourcing cabernet from across South Australia including significant amounts from the ancient soils of McLaren Vale, plus Langhorne Creek, Wrattonbully, Barossa, Padthaway, Barossa Valley and Coonawarra. Look for a strong cassis blueberry blackberry nose with a savoury undercurrent. Cedar, dried herbs and meaty notes mark the flavours over dense sweet tannins a la chief winemaker Peter Gago’s hand. Tightly wound and structured to live through 2020 easily. Steak, lamb or venison will work here. Excellent value for cabernet fans.Tasted: 04 January 2016Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
