Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe cooler 2011 vintage sets the tone for this 68/32 merlot syrah blend harvested across the valley on the Black Sage Bench. Look for meaty (syrah) savory (merlot) aromas laced with sage, prune sand a touch of French oak. The attack is soft, the palate cool and earthy with rich blacker fruits and some expresso beans. Dry but firm this still needs another 18 months to balance out. An odd mix fruit that delivers.
