Champagne, FranceChampagne Charlie is a classic, rich and toasty, thanks to an impressive 50% reserve wines, and range of 60 crus. This flagship NV is based upon GC Oger (Côtes des Blancs), GC Ambonnay (Montagne de Reims), and Verneiul (Vallée de la Marne), with a cépage of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier. Each cru was vinified in stainless solo, with 5-10% seeing time in wood. Luxuriant brioche, lemon curd, praline fills the doughy palate, redolent of red apple, with enough sharpened chalky acidity to sculpt and shape through a lemon / chalk finish. Quite stylish and modern, this house's NV leads the three Heidsieck lots by a lot. Don't forget Champagne Charlie when you're looking for a classic English styled champagne.Tasted: 20 August 2022Tasted by: Prices:

Champagne, FranceChange is part of Charles Heidsieck’s Brut Réserve formula. The new blend deals with about 60 parcels, down from 120 to better focus the complexity. Some 40 percent of reserve wines aged from five to 15 years make this wine the star it is. It is slightly darker now but still lively and fresh. It has a nutty brioche nose with baked apple, honey and cream aromas. The palate is elegant and lively with a fine mousse and spicy, citrus, juicy baked apple/cherry/tropical fruit flavours. The balance is perfect, with lots of bottle development in the finish. Impressive fresh, mouth-filling bubble that over-delivers for the price.Tasted: 10 December 2015Tasted by: Prices:
Champagne, FranceDeep, toasty goût anglais aromas, rich and full, with hazelnut, macadamia praline and brioche, a reflection of the approximately 40 percent reserve wines in cepage. Full bodied and fleshy, with heady caramel, baked apple and lemon curd through the finish. Acidity is lively, more than enough to channel the flow. Forceful, though with finesse, this champagne will suit richer dishes, like roasted guinea fowl or pâté.Tasted: 10 December 2015Tasted by: Prices:
