Champagne Veuve Clicquot Brut NV

Champagne, FranceThe origin of Veuve Clicquot's distinctive yellow label (which looks orange) is linked to the egg yolk of a free-run chicken. Clicquot's non-vintage label is one of the more powerful house styles. After some sleepy years, it appears this wine is getting an upgrade of sorts with better fruit up front to offset the rich brioche and butter. Its weight and power stem from adding 45% reserve wines into this year’s blend. There is power and elegance in the same bottle. Look for more snappy acidity and citrus across the front end with a heady toasted nut mid-palate, and a long saline yeasty finish. In short, it is a round, rich sparkler with finesse for those who prefer their bubble with attitude.Tasted: 04 November 2024Tasted by: Prices:
