Tinhorn Creek Oldfield Series Merlot 2012
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaDeep herbal black plum, bramble and dusky violets pervade this full bodied merlot, splashed with fourteen percent cabernet franc and one percent syrah. Eighteen months in French oak certainly upped the toasted wood, which currently vies for attention over the dense, sun-ripened fruit. Thorny blackberry, ripe cassis and light smoke complete the full palate, resting on ragged tannins.
