Road 13 Merlot Low Yield Wines 2011
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThere's only 175 cases but merlot remains a tough sell even if it is better suited to BC than say cabernet sauvignon. This wine is just a pup and if you can get by the cedar-y brambly nose it has plenty to offer in texture weight and body. Look for a cedar chocolate pencil lead nose with bright red fruits and dash of dark plums. Firm and dry with well managed fine tannin it needs three more years in bottle to come around. If you have to crack it open now try it with grilled meats.Tasted: 27 June 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $27.00 | 750ml | winery direct and private wine shops |
