Chénas, Beaujolais Villages, Beaujolais, Burgundy, FranceTasted four years along, and this Chénas is as alluring as ever. Dominique Piron is the 14th generation winemaker at the family estate. There’s an earthy reductive kiss that opens this wine, before plunging into a stony, mineral slurry of plum, red currant, flushing red florals, red licorice, and rafts of fine spicing that linger on the finish. Tannins are tight and fine, and acidity is high. This wine’s tight structure has served it well; showing beautifully now, and still with time to go.Tasted: 17 August 2019Tasted by: Prices:

Chénas, Beaujolais Villages, Beaujolais, Burgundy, FranceRock juice. That's what this wild ferment Chénas is like, living up to its Quartz name. Dominique Piron is the 14th generation winemaker at the family estate. Woodsy, spice notes open, with subtle earthy smoke, dark florals, wild black plum, black cherry, black raspberry laid across a textured stream bed of stones. Tannins are slightly grippy and acids are bright and shining through to a fine peppery finish. Quite structured, this would hold up to roasted pork tenderloin or grilled sausages.Tasted: 15 November 2015Tasted by: Prices:
