Stonestreet Upper Barn Chardonnay Alexander Mountain Estate 2012
Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California, United StatesThe wine is 100 percent barrel fermented using indigenous yeasts and its aged for about 10 months in French oak of which about half is new. The fruit is rich led by the Hyde and Wente clones that are at the core of this chardonnay - rich and powerful but never to excess. It opens in a storm of citrus-washed tropical fruit aromas with a rich lees undercurrent. The palate is equally intense with notes of savoury croissants, butter, spice and mango apricot fruit. Complex long and while New World it has a certain finesse that keeps it all together. Try with whole roasted chicken or lobster.Tasted: 14 March 2016Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $110.00 | 750ml | speculative listing - Summit Fine Wines |
